Teen acne can appear as blackheads. Blackheads are the black dots that appear on your face through hair follicles on your skin. Blackheads can be the result of oily skin, dead skin cells, dirt that causes bacteria to grow. Acne can also appear in the form of whiteheads, deep and puss filled pimples. In extreme conditions, your skin might discover red colored pustules and nodules. Nodules can be trouble causing case of acne as they are large and cause pain too.
Causes
One of the most common causes of teen acne are the change in hormones. The hormone called Androgen starts growing in teenage girls and boys. Androgen plays a major role in teen acne. Androgen causes teen acne mostly in teens entering puberty. Another fact to consider is your genetics. If your parents had teen acne then there are the
chances that you will also have to face them. But, it doesn’t mean that all the teens that have acne had their parents suffering from acne. Sometimes it depends on individual eating and other habits. Another scientific reason behind teen acne is excessive productionof sebum.
Sebum is the oily substance that is secreted by the sebaceous glands. Sebum is essential substance for lubrication of skin and hair, but excessive production of sebum during puberty can cause teen acne. Your lifestyles and eating habits also play a role in generation acne on the skin. Teenagers often have bad or unhealthy eating habits like fast food, spicy food and food containing fats and oils. Consumption of excess oily foods can cause teen acne. Teens suffer a lot of other emotional trauma and changes in life causing an excessive amount of stress. This can result in teen acne.
How to cure teen acne
Even though you are suffering from teen acne, don’t worry because the problems are not going to stay with you forever. Right? Here are some tips on how you can avoid or cure acne.
Wash your face daily or frequently in a day, well help improve skin. If you travel a lot or you go out a lot, chances are that pollution can cause your acne, so wash your face when you come home. It will greatly reduce chances for bacteria to grow on penetrating into skin pores. But if you already have pimples you should not scrub your face too much and gently wash your face at least two times a day.
Avoid touching your face. Hands carry too much bacteria, and if you touch pimples on your face too much, it can make acne even worse for the skin. Another tip is, when you sleep don’t put your hands on your face if possible.
Limit use of cosmetics. Teenagers especially girls use cosmetics, and it is understandable in teenage as teenagers give a lot of importance to appearance. However, cosmetics contain chemicals that can result in teen acne. I am not against using cosmetics, but the point is you should know the amount of makeup to put every day. Also, go for only branded or natural cosmetics. Avoid cheap cosmetics.
